Hazelnut shells are excellent as fuel instead of wood chips or as an addition to wood chips. The calorific value of hazelnut shells is approx. 1.3 times higher than that of dry wood chips! (10 litres = approx. 4 KG) Furthermore, hazelnut shells can also be used well for the garden for covering/decorating/weed suppression.
