Walnut Cookies - Naturally, Delicious Baking

Ingredients

For the Dough:
130 g Butter or Margarine
130 g Sugar
2 Eggs
300 g Flour
1 tsp, leveled Baking Powder

For the Topping:
4 tbsp Apricot Jam
200 g Butter or Margarine
200 g Sugar
2 packets Vanilla Sugar
200 g Walnuts, ground
200 g Walnut Kernels, chopped
4 tbsp Water
Cake Icing, Chocolate

Preparation

Preparation: about 30 minutes
Baking: about 12 minutes
Quantity for: about 50 delicious Rieser Walnut Cookies

  1. Sift flour, starch, and baking powder into a bowl. Add butter in flakes, sugar, vanilla sugar, baking aroma, egg, and ground Rieser Walnuts. Knead into a smooth dough using the dough hook.

  2. Shape the dough into 2 rolls of about 20 cm in length. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.

  3. Cut the rolls into about 1/2 cm thin slices, yielding about 50 pieces of dough. Place on baking sheets with parchment paper. Brush with egg white and top each with 1 Rieser Walnut half.

  4. Bake the walnut cookies in the preheated oven at 200°C (175°C convection) on the 2nd shelf from the bottom for about 12 minutes.
